Signature Health’s New Mobile Clinic Will Bring Free Naloxone and Opioid Overdose Education to Residents Across Ashtabula County
Posted on:
Beginning March 25, the Mobile Clinic Will Be Available on Fridays at Designated Community Locations in Ashtabula, Conneaut, Andover, Orwell and Jefferson.
March 23, 2022—Signature Health will debut a mobile clinic in Ashtabula County on Friday, March 25, which will make its first stops at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and at G.O. Community Development Corporation in Ashtabula, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
The mobile clinic will offer free naloxone nasal spray and opioid overdose awareness and education for residents of Ashtabula County. Community members can “walk up” to the van at designated times and locations, to learn about how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer naloxone. Visitors will walk away with a free naloxone kit, which is medicine that can save someone’s life if they are overdosing on opioids—whether it’s a prescription opioid, heroin, or a drug containing fentanyl.
Signature Health mobile clinic staff also will be available to educate community members about addiction resources and medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder. They can help connect individuals with other services that Signature Health offers at its office on Main Street in Ashtabula (and through telehealth), including primary care, behavioral health, and infectious disease services.
In the future, Signature Health expects to expand the services that are available through the mobile clinic. Please visit SignatureHealthInc.org/Mobile for the latest information on services offered.
